Hinsdale South Cross Country

2021 Season

After a year where the Hinsdale South Hornets qualified for State for the first time followed by a year where they would have qualified if there hadn't been a pandemic, the girls were setting their goals high and hoping to reach Peoria yet again.

At the West Suburban Conference Meet the girls had their top-five finishers all finish with All-Conference honors. Charlotte Old (9th), Elena Garcia (10th), Abby Peterson (11th), Victoria Cius (15th), and Yuliya Drabchuck (16th) earned the team the most All-Conference honors since 2004, which was the only year in team history the Hornets won the conference meet. There performance this year was good enough for a second-place finish behind Downers Grove South.

At the 2A Regional meet at Kaneland, the girls finished in third place behind Nazareth Academy and Wheaton St. Francis with sophomore Charlotte Old earning All-Conference honors with her 4th-place finish. At the Sectional meet at Fenton, the girls had to run in the slop after a week of heavy rains. They finished in 8th place behind Kaneland, a mere 11 points away from qualifying for State as a team. Individuals Charlotte Old and Abby Peterson did qualify for State as individuals.
