1988 Season
Head Coach: Mike Madsen
I know I can do it. I only have twenty feet left to run. All I have to do is pick up my pace and...sprint to the finish! Those were the thoughts going through the runners' minds toward the finish of the two-mile course. All of the home meets took place at Katherine Legge Park. To prepare for their meets, the girls practiced for approximately one and a half hours each day after school.
“Even though the team was very young and inexperienced, they tried their best," commented coach Mike Madsen. The team finished with a record of 4-2 in dual meets and tied for third place in conference. Melinda Grieco was All-Conference and she qualified for the sectional meet. To sum up the season, freshman Amy VanAllen said, "We all tried our best and we enjoyed every moment of it!"
